Reflection
Looking Back
Eight weeks ago, my journey began for this class. I remember my initial feelings. I was nervous and knew I had a lot to learn. I was also excited and open to the wonderful new opportunities I was hoping to get out of the class

I have realized that it isn't about how much technology you use, it is more about making sure the technology is meaningful and effective. Learning about the SAMR Model helped me be mindful of how I am using technology in my classroom. I can now evaluate the technology tools I use and determine if they will help transform my students' learning.

One aspect of technology in education that definitely needs to be incorporated is understanding a person's "digital tattoo." I plan to integrate lessons about digital tattoos with my 8th-grade students. I feel that with this generation of students, most of them are using technology outside of school. Unfortunately, I do not think they are aware that what they post on social media is out there for everyone to see. They need to be careful of the content in their posts. It could negatively affect them in the future, like getting into college or even getting a job.

My views about Twitter have changed over the last 8 weeks. I initially felt Twitter was just a platform where people vented to other people in the world and got into political arguments. I have recently realized that Twitter is actually a wonderful PLN (Professional Learning Network) for teachers. I have come across many resources that are beneficial to my students and myself. Using Twitter, I can share my thoughts, talk with other teachers about ideas, and seek advice. I am more open to using Twitter professionally in the future.
