Reflection #2
At the Beginning
At the start of EDU 777, I was a little nervous and intimidated about the proposal project. I felt some pressure because I wasn't sure if I would be able to develop a meaningful topic. Once I got started, all the different parts began to fall into place.
Challenges?
I didn't encounter any challenges along my journey, which made the final proposal easier for me. After completing all steps to the proposal process, I couldn't be happier about my topic. Incorporating engaging technology is highly critical this year for our 8th graders. The further we get into this year, the more I realize the importance of my topic.
One aspect that made me nervous was sharing my plan with my colleagues. I was worried they would be annoyed or feel my idea wasn't necessary, or there wasn't a need for it with our students. I felt a sense of relief when I realized my colleagues thought my topic was relevant. It was reassuring when they all seemed genuinely excited and curious about the technology tools I would present them with. I was happy they bought into the idea without me even having to sell it to them.
Looking Forward
This class and the proposal process have given me more confidence to communicate my technology ideas with my colleagues. I am now more excited than ever to share everything I have learned about technology with my school.
